SIGN HIM: ‘Rapid’ Arsenal transfer target shows Champions League quality that Gunners are missing

The Shakhtar Donetsk winger, who has admitted that he wouldn’t be able to say no to a move to Arsenal, once again impressed in Champions League action.
Arsenal fans kept a close eye on Shakhtar Donetsk’s Champions League clash with Celtic on Wednesday evening, as it gave Gunners fans an opportunity to watch Mykhaylo Mudryk on the European stage. Mudryk was linked with Arsenal in the summer, and it seems as though the rumours will keep going into the January transfer window.
Mudryk continued his impressive start to the Champions League campaign by rifling in the equaliser in the 1-1 draw with Celtic. The Ukraine international showed frightening pace down the left side before striking the ball into the roof of the net, following up his goal and two assists in the 4-1 victory over RB Leipzig last week.
Former Blackburn Rovers and Aston Villa striker Chris Sutton tweeted: “Mudryk is rapid. 1-1.”
In his first two games in the competition, Mudryk has shown his Champions League quality, highlighting that he is more than capable of mixing it with the best players from across Europe. The winger has already made it clear that he would find it impossible to turn down Arsenal if they came calling in January.
“In winter, we will see. There has been lots discussed about transfers, about clubs,” said Mudryk.
“I think every guy dreams about the Premier League.
“Arsenal is a very good team with a very good coach. I like the way they play.
“From my side, I can’t say no (if Arsenal tried to sign me).”
With four points from their first two Champions League games, Shakhtar are in a good position to qualify for the knockout stages of the competition, but a lot of Arsenal fans will be hoping that he’s their own player but the time that comes around.
