Arsenal shift their focus to the Europa League as they have the second leg of the Round of 16 fixture against Sporting in midweek, so let’s take a look at the predicted lineup.

The Gunners put in a commanding performance against Fulham at the weekend as they were able to maintain their five-point lead at the top of the Premier League. But against the Portuguese giants, it will be a different kind of challenge to get through to the next round.

Matt Turner will return in goal replacing Aaron Ramsdale. The American was at fault for one of the goals in the first leg and would want to be more focused this time around. As for the full backs, it is going to be Ben White and Kieran Tierney coming in for Alex Zinchenko.

Jakub Kiwior made his debut last week and could see another game in the centre of defence. The Polish international would be partnered with William Saliba and their ability on the ball is going to be crucial in helping the hosts get the win.

Jorginho is another player who gets to start, and it is likely that the Italian will be in the middle along with Granit Xhaka. Defending transitions will be important against the visitors who like to hit teams on the counter.

Further ahead, Bukayo Saka will be on the right wing and would want to use his pace and skill to attack the defence. Fabio Vieira should replace Martin Odegaard as the central playmaker and the Portugal international has the ability to make a decisive contribution. As for the left wing, it is likely that Reiss Nelson will be given another chance.

Arteta has to make a decision with regards to Gabriel Jesus who returned to action at the weekend. Should the Brazilian be given a start, it will allow Leandro Trossard to rest and that is good for the squad.

Arsenal have a chance to get to the quarterfinals of a competition they would love to win. But it is not going to be easy against Sporting, a team that is filled with great attacking talent. Arteta would hope that his team can pull off another win and continue their journey in Europe.
