Sunday afternoon’s Premier League match between Arsenal and Manchester United will be played at Old Trafford. This comes following Arsenal’s significant win over Aston Villa in midweek.

On Wednesday night, the Gunners controlled their match against Steven Gerrard’s team and won 2-1 thanks to goals from Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Martinelli. After this triumph, Mikel Arteta’s team continues to lead the league with an undefeated start to the year.

The Red Devils, on the other hand, will be entering this match off a hat-trick of triumphs. Erik ten Hag’s team is presently only one point behind fourth-place Brighton in the league despite having a dismal start to the season.

Arsenal have enjoyed decent success against United in recent years as the north London club have only lost one of the last eight games against Manchester United in the Premier League. However, the only defeat that they suffered was in this exact fixture last campaign.

Aaron Ramsdale sustained a minor knock in the midweek fixture against Fulham but played the whole game. So, he will be assessed ahead of the match but is expected to keep his place between the sticks.

William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhães are set to continue at the heart of the Arsenal defence, while Ben White should commence at the right full-back position.

After starting the first three games, Oleksandr Zinchenko has now missed back-to-back matches due to a knee problem. The Ukrainian could be available for selection in this fixture and in that case, Kieran Tierney might find himself on the bench against Man Utd.

Thomas Partey and Mohamed Elneny remain sidelined due to thigh injuries and therefore, Albert Sambi Lokonga and Granit Xhaka should start once again in the engine room for Arsenal.

Club captain Martin Odegaard also suffered an injury against Fulham and limped off in the second half. So, he is in doubt ahead of this encounter. The final decision will be made about his availability after assessing him ahead of the game. So, if he fails to recover in time then Emile Smith Rowe could make his first start of this season.
