Arsenal are reportedly interested in securing the services of AC Milan midfielder Sandro Tonali if they are unable to agree a deal for Leicester City star, Youri Tielemans.

The North London giants have added five players to their team throughout the transfer window – including Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko from Manchester United and Fabio Vieira – however, Mikel Arteta still wants to make further additions before the transfer window ends.

Mikel Arteta is particularly keen to strengthen his midfield area, which has led to the North London giants identifying the Foxes midfielder, Tielemans as one of their targets.

They are believed to make an offer for the Belgium midfielder this week, however, if they are unable to agree a deal then they will look at alternatives.

According to the Daily Star, one possible alternative to Belgian midfielder would be Milan’s Tonali, who has been compared to ex-Italy international playmaker Andrea Pirlo.

Tonali, who featured in Milan’s 1-1 draw against Atalanta at the weekend, has played 83 games for the Italian outfits and is currently under contract until 2026.

As well as planning a move for Tonali, the Gunners are also believed to be looking at Brighton & Hove Albion playmaker Moises Caicedo, who has started all three Premier League games this season.
