Gunners lead race for ‘Turkish Messi’ amid Rice and Caicedo double-deal

Arda Guler interest
Arsenal are in pole position to land Fenerbahce youngster Arda Guler in the summer transfer window ahead of their Premier League rivals, according to a report from Football Insider. The Gunners are believed to have leapfrogged the likes of Newcastle in the race for the 18-year-old forward, while Barcelona and Ajax are believed to be in the hunt too.
Guler has impressed in Turkey since breaking into the first-team, with his style of playing being likened heavily to Lionel Messi, with some even naming him the “Turkish Messi”.
Rice and Caicedo double deal
Arsenal could make a double swoop in the midfield department this summer for both Declan Rice and Moises Caicedo, amid links for the pair. The Telegraph reports that talks are still ongoing between the Gunners and West Ham for the former, with two bids rejected so far.
As for the latter, there had been claims that the north London outfit dropped their interest in the Brighton star, as the two deals would cost too much combined. However, with the possibility of an exit for Thomas Partey, the search for a new deeper midfielder has opened up the possibility of a move for Caicedo once again, though Arsenal will have to battle rivals Chelsea for his signature.
Arsenal star Jakub Kiwior has hinted at a deal for Ajax star Jurrien Timber this summer in an interview with Polish outlet Meczyki. When asked about a potential signing of the Dutch defender, the January signing replied: “I’m glad. Let the best players play at Arsenal. Let’s win trophies together.”
