GOOD NEWS: When will Arsenal Star Man return to action?

Thomas Partey’s significance to Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal can’t be understated, although Jorginho has slotted in nicely at the base of the Gunners’ midfield since it became known the Ghanaian would spend a brief period on the sidelines.
The timing of Partey’s injury couldn’t have been worse as the Premier League leaders prepared for their mammoth clash with Manchester City last Wednesday. And while Jorginho performed ably in his place, the Gunners succumbed to their first home defeat of the season to temporarily hand City the advantage in the title race.
Arteta’s side are back in pole position following Saturday’s ludicrous events, and the return of Partey would further embolden their title cause.
So, when could the former Atletico Madrid star return to action?
What injury has Thomas Partey picked up?
It was revealed in the build-up to the City game that Partey was expected to miss out through a rather ambiguous muscular problem.
However, it’s seen been disclosed that the midfielder picked up a minor thigh problem.
How many games has Thomas Partey missed?
Two so far. Partey missed the defeat against City and the thrilling 4-2 victory at Villa Park on Saturday.
The Gunners are next in action on Saturday as they visit Leicester.
What has Mikel Arteta said about Thomas Partey’s injury?
Arteta has to be cautious with Partey given his track record, and the Spaniard said ahead of the Villa win that the Ghanaian “needs another week” before returning to action.
“He’s [Partey] not fit. He didn’t even train with us yesterday. He wasn’t feeling good enough to do that so he probably needs another week,” the boss said.
Thomas Partey’s potential return date
While Partey is yet to return to training, there’s hope he could return for Saturday’s trip to Leicester. However, he might only earn minutes off the bench given Jorginho’s impressive displays in his absence.
