Eddie Nketiah, Takehiro Tomiyasu: Arsenal injury news and return dates ahead of Man Utd clash

Published

on

Arsenal turn their attention to a huge clash against Manchester United this weekend. The Gunners’ winning start to the Premier League season came to an end as they drew 2-2 against Fulham last weekend.

Mikel Arteta will have finalised his squad for the 2023/24 campaign by the time the two sides meet at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday. Oleksandr Zinchenko and Gabriel Jesus were both substituted into the action by Arteta against Fulham as the two sides shared the points.

Eddie Nketiah

Nketiah came off the bench to put Arsenal 2-1 ahead against Fulham with a well-timed run and strike. Rumours then circulated that the Hale Ender picked up a knee injury.

What Arteta has said: “The way we generated chance after chance I didn’t think it was necessary (to bring Jesus on). We decided in the last minute to bring him in. He’s only had a few days of training sessions after the surgery.”

What Arteta has said: “Huge blow. Especially for him after just joining the club. To have the injury he has is a huge blow. We recruited him with clear intentions and what he was bringing to the team was evident, but he’s not going to be able to do it this season. We have to adapt. These things happen, unfortunately, and we have to move on.”
