Douglas Luiz Breaks Silence Over Failed Transfer, Odegaard Given Another Title

Martin Odegaard labelled as Arsenal role model
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has been speaking very highly of club captain Martin Odegaard ahead of the Gunners’ high-octane clash against Manchester United at Old Trafford.
Odegaard has been a shining light since arriving in north London and has started the new season brilliantly, scoring three goals in five league appearances so far.
But his work outside of the pitch has really impressed Arteta, who describes the Norwegian as a ‘great role model’.
“He’s a really humble, hungry player that has a tremendous quality,” Arteta said. “He puts that quality to the service of the team. He’s always willing to do things for others, and he’s a great role model for the rest of the players and staff.”
Tierney describes Hale End graduate as best trainer
Ahead of this afternoon’s Premier League clash, Kieran Tierney has labelled Emile Smith Rowe as the ‘best player in training’ at Arsenal.
“The best player in training would be Emile Smith Rowe,” he said on Goal’s YouTube channel. “The fans can see how good he is but by training with him every day, you realise how special he is.
“He can take the ball under pressure, he can beat a man, he can score goals and he can get assists, so he’s a great player and I love playing with him.”
Douglas Luiz breaks silence over failed Arsenal transfer
Douglas Luiz has broken his silence following his failed move to the Emirates Stadium on transfer deadline day. Arsenal have had up to three bids rejected for the Brazilian, with their final £25 million offer still deemed too low despite the fact that Luiz only has a year left on his contract.
It was reported that the former Manchester City midfielder agreed on personal terms so there was uncertainty over whether he would remain committed with Aston Villa following all the deadline day drama.
But if his latest activity on Instagram is to be believed, it appears that Luiz remains focused on the season in the hope of making a significant impact under Steven Gerrard.
