DEAL CLOSE: Arsenal transfer news: Kylian Mbappe talks explained as £40m Jurrien Timber deal ‘close’

Kylian Mbappe latest
Arsenal have been linked with a move for PSG star Kylian Mbappe this summer, with the forward nearing the final year of his contract. While the Gunners have been linked, Fabrizio Romano claims that no English side are currently in talks, saying on CaughtOffside: “Despite some big headlines, I honestly have absolutely no news on any English clubs being in talks to sign Mbappe.
“Real Madrid are always very well informed on Mbappe, I’m not aware of anything else at this point.” It remains to be seen whether there is any update on the situation over the next few weeks, with the future of the France international currently uncertain.
Jurrien Timber deal ‘close’
Arsenal are on the verge of signing Jurrien Timber from Ajax in a deal worth roughly £40million this summer, according to Sky Sports Germany. A total agreement is claimed to be close for the defender, who has just two-years remaining on his contract, with his versatility coming as a huge boost to the squad.
Aymeric Laporte interest
Arsenal are interested in a potential move for Manchester City star defender Aymeric Laporte in the summer transfer window, reports Mundo Deportivo. The Spain international has been linked with an exit from the Etihad Stadium as he enters the final two-years of his contract with the club.
If the Gunners step up their interest, they could battle against north London rivals Tottenham as well as the likes of Bayern Munich and Barcelona.
