BREAKING: Sorry Arsenal as Chelsea looking to complete signing of brilliant £86M valued star

The Gunners, who reportedly had an opening offer worth around £55m including add-ons rejected, are yet to meet the demands of the Ukrainian club, with the payment structure also being discussed.

Sky Sports have claimed that Shakhtar view Mudryk, who has played just eight times for his country and is yet to score a goal in international football, as one of the top five wingers in the world.

Shakhtar believe he is better than Antony at Manchester United, who cost £86m from Ajax in the summer, and are using that as their benchmark in negotiations.

While Shakhtar have revealed they are holding out for around £85m for Mudryk, The Guardian write that Chelsea also hold an interest in the player, and may even hijack Arsenal’s deal.

It is no secret that Chelsea are fans of the man and are keen to add another winger to that attack after failing to make the start to the new season that many fans would have liked.

All indications, all the rumours and all the suggestions led to Arsenal – it seemed that they were the front runners to sign the gifted young man, so the news that Chelsea are now interested will not be welcomed.

It will mean that Donetsk will bump up the asking price of Mudryk and will mean that the Gunners may even have to offer a wage that they would never have hoped for just a few days ago.

This will be an interesting one to watch that is for sure
