GARY NEVILLE has made a bold prediction about the Premier League title race.
The ex-Man Utd star believes Arsenal will tumble down the table after the World Cup.
The Gunners are top after beating Leeds 1-0 on Sunday.
And their next-closest competitors, current champs Man City, are four points behind after losing to Liverpool.
Some are predicting Mikel Arteta’s men to go all the way after winning nine of their 10 matches this season.
The winter World Cup in Qatar poses an interesting dilemma in the title race, with some players sure to be tired afterwards.
However, ex-Man United star Neville reckons the tournament will definitely hinder Arsenal’s progress.
And he believes rivals City will feel the effects less.
Pep Guardiola has plenty of experience when it comes to winning silverware.
Meanwhile, this is Arteta’s first-ever title challenge in the dugout.
And Neville feels Arsenal will slowly fall away as the season progresses, adding City will “run away with it” after the World Cup is over.
Neville told Sky Sports: “I still think [City] will [run away with it].
“I don’t think today changes it, this is a freak game playing at Anfield and I think for City it’s the most difficult game they have.
“I still think City will run away with it. I think Arsenal will come back towards Tottenham, Chelsea, Man United, Newcastle, and I think City will sort of go away.
“This season’s a very different season as well, post World Cup it could be completely different to what it is now.”
