Arsenal Transfer Rumours: Leading race for Danish playmaker, Battle for Portuguese midfielder, Spanish forward on the radar

Arsenal in advanced talks with 22-year-old Bundesliga playmaker
Arsenal have reportedly opened negotiations with the agent of Eintracht Frankfurt attacker Jesper Lindstrom ahead of a possible winter transfer. The London giants are expected to dive straight back into the market this January after narrowly missing out on the signing of Douglas Luiz from Aston Villa on deadline day.
The Spanish manager and Edu seek to bring in some additional quality. The Gunners have started the campaign in breathtaking form, winning six of their opening seven PL games. However, there’s an understanding that some extra depth could be required if Arsenal are to go the full distance this campaign.
The London giants have contacted the representatives of Denmark international to discuss a transfer. Lindstrom arrived from Danish club Brondby in the summer of 2021 and has since started to showcase his quality in Germany with last campaign’s Europa League winners.
Jesper has scored three times in 10 games in all tournaments this campaign, netting in the Bundesliga, Champions League and DFB Pokal. The 22-year-old playmaker has also played in three different positions this campaign for the Bundesliga giants, featuring in attacking midfield and on either flank.
That kind of versatility is exactly what the Gunners are currently looking for in their pursuit of another forward. The London giants worked tirelessly to try and bring in some additional firepower this summer but they ultimately fell short after being priced out of moves for Pedro Neto and Moussa Diaby.
Arsenal enter the battle to sign No.8 Premier League midfielder
Arsenal have joined Barcelona in the battle to add Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves. With Wolverhampton struggling to find consistent form this campaign, the 25-year-old midfielder could be seeking a new challenge as he seems to continue to progress in his career.
Neves gave up Champions League football with Porto to join the project at Wolverhampton when they were in the Championship, helping them gain promotion to the PL. However, Ruben could now be looking for a move away, with two teams likely to be in Europe next campaign pushing to sign him.
Both Barcelona and Arsenal are looking to add Portugal international. The report claims that the Portuguese has no intention of signing a new deal at Wolverhampton, so the Midlands club could be forced to move him on in the summer to avoid losing him on a free transfer.
A move away from the club seems likely for the Portuguese midfielder at this moment, but it’s unclear as to whether he’d prefer a move to Arsenal or Barcelona. As we saw during the summer transfer window, the Blaugrana is often too big a prospect to turn down.
Both sides are now on high alert, with Ruben not expected to sign a renewal at Molineux beyond his current contract, which expires in 2024. Bruno Lage is now expected to bring down his asking price, from £55m to nearly £40m, with the club aiming to avoid a free transfer exit for Neves.
Arsenal given green light to sign €35m-rated La Liga forward
Arsenal, Tottenham and Liverpool are keen on signing Real Madrid forward Marco Asensio in the winter transfer window. Spain international has found it hard to hold down a regular starting berth at La Liga giants, and he needs to leave Los Blancos to play more often.
Marco is one of the most promising footballers to have risen in stature at the Spanish club in recent years, and he has managed to impress with his cameos over the last few campaigns. PL bigwigs like Tottenham and Liverpool can certainly use his creativity and technical ability in the final third.
It will be interesting to see if they can strike an agreement with Los Blancos for Asensio in the coming months. Meanwhile, the Gunners are already well stocked in the attacking department, with Saka, Martinelli and Marquinhos at the Spanish manager’s disposal.
Arsenal should look to add more depth to their central midfield unit instead amid links with Douglas Luiz. And it would be surprising if they invested in another wide attacker. The Spaniard has barely had any playing time at Real Madrid this campaign, and he has played a combined total of 48 minutes in the UCL and La Liga.
The 26-year-old forward is yet to make a single start for Real Madrid in those tournaments. A footballer of his ability needs to play more often to fulfil his tremendous potential, and a move to the PL could provide him with a fresh start.
