Arsenal Transfer Rumours: Leading race for Argentine midfielder, Battle for Belgian winger, Iranian striker on the radar

Arsenal enter the battle to sign €25m-rated La Liga midfielder
Arsenal and Liverpool are keeping tabs on Real Betis midfielder Guido Rodriguez. Argentina international joined the La Liga giants in 2020 and has since made a name for himself in the Spanish top flight. Guido has so far played 109 games for Los Verdiblancos, scoring thrice and assisting three across all tournaments.
A defensive midfielder, Rodriguez is also capable of playing at centre-back or right midfield. An impressive tackler, the 28-year-old midfielder is adept at winning the ball back and is a solid presence in the middle of the park. The Argentine midfielder should have little trouble in adapting to the physical rigours of the PL.
This is good news for Arsenal and Liverpool. Both clubs are among the most illustrious in England and will give the Argentine the platform to take his talents to the top level. Available for nearly €30m, he represents excellent value for money and can easily perform for at least 4-5 years at the top level.
The Gunners are enjoying a renaissance of sorts under the Spanish manager this campaign. Arsenal could do with another experienced defensive midfielder on their roster.
Adding the South American midfielder to a squad that has Partey, Xhaka and Lokonga will give Areta the dynamism and experience needed in the middle of the park for the younger attackers to do their business. As long as he keeps performing to his strengths, Guido Rodriguez will continue to attract interest from top teams.
Arsenal joined the race to sign No.11 Premier League winger
Arsenal will have to battle Chelsea for the signature of Leandro Trossard. Belgium international is in the final year of his deal with Brighton, thus fueling speculations regarding his future. The London giants are in the market for a wide attacker, but ex-Seagulls manager Graham Potter might want a reunion at Chelsea.
Trossard has been one of the top footballers of this Premier League campaign after scoring five goals in seven games. His contractual situation at Brighton puts him on the radar of multiple big teams, including Arsenal and Chelsea. Leandro scored a sensational hat-trick at Anfield in Brighton’s 3-3 draw with Liverpool last weekend.
The 27-year-old winger has only scored eight goals in the top-flight campaigns before this one. The Belgian could deliver a solid campaign for the Seagulls, although the winter transfer window may change the course of his career.
Having impressed Brighton in the last four years, the Belgian attacker could be tempted by the prospect of joining a bigger team. The Gunners were keen in the summer but did not make a bid for Trossard. Arsenal might make a cut-price offer in winter but face competition from Chelsea.
The Spanish coach has been keen on signing a wide attacker since the summer. Having failed to land some of their preferred footballers, Mikel Arteta will be keen on securing the services of the experienced Leandro.
Arsenal interested in signing No.9 Primeira Liga centre-forward
Mehdi Taremi is attracting the interest of Arsenal and Chelsea from the PL. The 30-year-old striker currently plays for Porto and is pencilled in to make a switch to England after the World Cup. Iran international might be a name unheard of, but the centre-forward is putting in displays that attract the interest of top teams.
The attention comes from PL, as Arsenal and Chelsea are reportedly vying for his signature. The report suggests a winter move could be on the cards for the Iranian centre-forward, who will likely be part of Iran’s squad in Qatar. The Portuguese outlet claims there is enough to state the Gunners are interested.
The Spanish manager did bring Gabriel Jesus in the summer but may not have the required cover for the Brazilian. Eddie Nketiah, who scored in the Gunners’ win over Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League, is a good backup, but the London giants lack depth in the area.
Taremi from Porto could help bridge that gap, and the Dragons could be willing to sanction a sale in winter. Mehdi’s deal expires in 2024, meaning the next window could prove a good opportunity for the Portuguese giants to cash in.
The financial details, such as transfer fees, are not mentioned yet, but the centre-forward could be available for a reasonable price. Mehdi Taremi could make sense for the Gunners as a backup, although the club would be sacrificing their recent policy of signing youngsters.
