Arsenal Transfer News: Mikel Arteta ‘wants’ Dortmund star amid Declan Rice warning

Gunners want Julian Brandt move
Arsenal are keen to sign Borussia Dortmund playmaker Julian Brandt this summer, according to Bild, via BuliNews.
The report has claimed that the Gunners want to bring Brandt to north London ‘at all costs’. Brandt was heavily linked with a move to the Emirates back in 2021 but the player himself was coy when asked about a potential move. Speaking to RTL at the time, Brandt said: “Of course, it’s nice when other clubs express interest.
“But from my side, there has never been any signs that I was thinking about a transfer. I don’t think I’ll be playing anywhere else this year.”
Neville’s Rice warning
Manchester United hero Gary Neville has told Arsenal and other clubs interested in signing West Ham midfielder Declan Rice that the England international is only worth around £50million-£60million.
“I think he’s done a brilliant job with Declan Rice and he’s had a great few years. But for me, I wouldn’t be spending £110million or £120million on Rice if I was Manchester United this summer. I would spend £50million-£60million on Declan Rice, but I wouldn’t spend the figures being reported because I feel in that position, I still feel like he’s got a lot of growth.”
Petit’s Jorginho admission
Former Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Petit has admitted that he isn’t a big fan of January signing Jorginho.
Speaking before the north London outfit beat Everton this week, Petit toldPremier League Odds: “[Manchester] City will put pressure on them every single day, but they are showing so much maturity and happiness. Happiness is so important and you can see that from Jorginho, he’s a different player.
“I’m not a big fan of Jorginho and I think he’s very happy he’s left Chelsea’s dressing room – all of a sudden he looks like a different player.”
