Arsenal transfer news: David Raya agent ‘confirms’ deal as Inter Milan consider £30m swoop

David Raya agent ‘confirms’ Arsenal transfer with Bukayo Saka hint after Brentford loan agreed
David Raya’s agent, Jaume Munell, has all-but confirmed the Brentford goalkeeper’s move to Arsenal with a post on social media. football.london understands that the Spain international is set to join the Gunners on an initial loan with an option to make the move permanent for £27million.
Raya entered the final year of his contract with Thomas Frank’s side this summer and had his heart set on a move to the Emirates Stadium – despite interest from Bayern Munich, Chelsea and Tottenham. The Spaniard has completed a medical ahead of his announcement as an Arsenal player.
Brentford boss Thomas Frank has confirmed that Raya is set to join Arsenal this summer, claiming he is “expecting” the deal to be completed “soon”. An announcement could come as soon as this evening after Raya’s agent, Jaume Munell, posted a picture of himself stood in front of the Arsenal badge at London Colney on his Instagram page.
Arsenal and Chelsea could still yet sign Mohammed Kudus this summer with a positive update emerging despite the transfer agreement between Brighton and Ajax. Stamford Bridge appeared as the Netherlands international’s most likely destination, but interest from the Seagulls and Arsenal was always prominent with one of those teams going on to make a formal offer.
As revealed by The Athletic earlier this month, Ajax reached an agreement in principle with the Seagulls to sell Kudus for just under €40million (£34.5m). However, the deal stalled on the side of the player with Kudus’ entourage wanting to include a release clause, a desire not matched by Brighton, as per reports in the Dutch media.
Chelsea’s ongoing saga involving Moises Caicedo has seen attention shift from other targets, such as Kudus. Liverpool have seen a £110million offer accepted by Brighton for the 21-year-old, however the player himself prefers a move to west London over Merseyside.
That triple-figure proposal is yet to be matched or improved upon by Chelsea, although the plan is to do so very soon. In the meantime, Liverpool will take on Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, with Ajax manager Maurice Steijn confirming that Kudus will also be in action this weekend despite the interest from London and agreement with Brighton.
Inter Milan consider Arsenal transfer swoop as Edu sets clear £30m stance
Arsenal have set a £30million asking price for Takehiro Tomiyasu with Inter Milan considering a move for the Japan international. The Gunners are currently focusing on selling a number of fringe players before the summer transfer window closes.
Mikel Arteta has welcomed three new signings to the Emirates Stadium so far with Declan Rice, Jurrien Timber and Kai Havertz all joining the squad. football.london understands that David Raya is set to join Arsenal on an initial £3million loan deal with an option to make the move permanent for £27million next summer.
Raya had just 11 months left on his current contract at the Gtech Community Stadium and is said to have already agreed personal terms with the Gunners – along with completing a medical earlier this week. Brentford boss Thomas Frank confirmed that Raya is set to join Arsenal this summer, claiming he is “expecting” the deal to be completed “soon”.
Inter have pulled out of the race to sign Folarin Balogun – but they retain a strong interest in signing Tomiyasu. According to a report via Sport Witness, Arsenal are now willing to sell the Japanese international for a sum of €35million (£30m).
