Arsenal started negotiations with No.7 Premier League attacker

Pedro Neto is keen to join Arsenal after the Gunners emerged as serious contenders for the attacker. Wolves’ asking price is proving difficult for the move to conclude, although the London club are expected to push on to add Portugal international.

The Gunners are focusing on getting footballers out the door to free up space in the squad and slash their existing wage bill. Maitland-Niles, Pepe, and Bellerin are still at Arsenal, with the London giants expected to find a solution regarding their future before the summer transfer window shuts down.

Pepe joined Nice on loan, and the Spanish manager will be expected to bring in a replacement for the Ivorian winger. Arsenal have been in the hunt for a wide attacker from the early days of the summer transfer window, and they initially missed out on signing Raphinha from Leeds United.

Neto emerged on their radar, with the Gunners opening negotiations with Wolves over a possible transfer. Wolves have already lost a few attacking talents in this window, although they have signed a few quality footballers such as Goncalo Guedes and Matheus Nunes.

Pedro is keen on moving to Arsenal and could push to get a deal done. But Wolves’ £50m asking price is a stumbling block for the London giants, who stay uninterested in overpaying for their preferred target. The Gunners considered an offer of nearly £35m, although they could change their stance.
