Arsenal started negotiations with No.11 Belgian forward in January

Leandro Trossard has emerged as a target for Arsenal, who are exploring the market for a wide forward. The 27-year-old winger has a year left on his deal at Brighton, who could look to cash in or risk losing the forward on the free next year.

Few would remember Arsenal being heavily linked with Belgium international three years ago when Unai Emery was coach. Many footballers were considered for the wide position back then before the Gunners eventually bought Nicolas Pepe in a club-record deal.

The Belgian winger ended up joining the Seagulls, despite grabbing the attention of some bigger teams in that window. However, the Belgian has done well with Brighton and has entered the final year of his contract, which could prompt the team to accept a reasonable offer from suitors.

The Gunners are reportedly keen on signing the former Genk forward, who finished the 2021/22 campaign with eight goals and three assists. Arsenal have been in the market for a wide forward with Nicolas Pepe expected to depart from the London club, and Leandro could be a financially effective option.

Other names like Raphinha have been linked with the Gunners recently, while notable stars like Gnabry have also been mentioned. However, Trossard could be a realistic target for Arsenal, considering the price tag and availability. The Seagulls could accept a cut-price fee for the Belgian winger, who has only a year left on his contract.
