Arsenal offered $75.9m for ‘next Lionel Messi’ as Chelsea and Tottenham target gets bargain price

Arteta finds perfect William Saliba partner

Rob Holding has had a tough couple of weeks as a first-team Arsenal defender. He’s gone from bit-part player watching on as his teammates romp the league to thrust up against goalscoring demon Erling Haaland. It’s gone about as well as you might imagine.

Saliba’s continued absence has only highlighted what fears already existed within the fanbase. The depth, just a little below the surface, isn’t strong enough to push Manchester City on one front, let alone on several. Heading into the summer, therefore, extra bodies are needed.

Enter Marc Guehi. The former Chelsea defender is being checked out by London’s top dogs once more after an impressive two years at Crystal Palace. He’s a fully fledged England international and fits the squad to a T.

According to The Sun, Arsenal are just one of the teams keen to sign him over the summer. With a £45m ($56m) valuation on the 22-year-old’s head, Tottenham are also said to be interested. Meanwhile, The Evening Standard write that Chelsea have first refusal for the same price.

As for the logistics of the transfer itself. Perfectly plausible in our books. Guehi is a top talent and has remarkable passing range, as well as leadership experience. Mikel Arteta and his guys should be all over this or else risk missing out big time.

Ansu Fati draws $75.9m offer

When it comes to wingers, Arsenal are pretty well stocked. Their first choice duo have both got more than 12 Premier League goals and the new arrival of Leandro Trossard has gone to plan so-far as a solid back-up. When it comes to competing in Europe next year, they could be about to land a gem.

According to Spanish publication, Sport, Barcelona would be willing to accept a £61m ($75.9m) offer for winger Ansu Fati as they look to ease the financial strain heading into the summer. The 20-year-old was picked out as being the next Lionel Messi but has struggled with injuries this season.

He took on the famous No. 10 shirt and everything, no pressure, kid. This year he has scored just four league goals, though, and has had his minutes hampered by injury. However, for a player of his talent and quality, if Fati is an option, then you don’t miss out.

It would be a risk, one that Arsenal have tended to stay away from in recent years, but perhaps one that they couldn’t resist. If Fati’s agents really have set the price for him, then testing the waters might not be the worst idea in the world.
