Neymar sends Jesus message

Neymar was delighted to see Gabriel Jesus finally make his return from injury in Arsenal’s win over Fulham. The Gunners striker suffered medial ligament damage against Cameroon while on international duty for Brazil at the World Cup.

Jesus later returned to London for surgery on his knee before being enrolled on a lengthy rehabilitation program back at London Colney. He took to Instagram to celebrate his journey and the Paris Saint-Germain star was among the likes of Martin Odegaard and William Saliba who flooded the comment section with messages of support.

In a short but simple reply, Neymar posted a red heart emoji under Jesus’ post. Vinicius Junior, who also commented under the post, claimed he is ‘happy as hell’ to see his fellow countryman back on the pitch.

Ian Wright has heaped praise on Leandro Trossard for his impressive performance in Arsenal’s win at the weekend. The 28-year-old provided a hat-trick of assists at Craven Cottage, becoming the first player in Premier League history to achieve such feat in the first-half at an away ground.

“He’s played against the players, he knows exactly what is needed from him,” the former Arsenal striker told Premier League Productions. “So to get a signing like that who can come in and is up to speed is invaluable to us.

“He’s shown from the first game to now he’s shown that he’s an unbelievable addition to this squad.”

Tottenham have been urged to take a leaf out of Arsenal’s book amid their search for a next head coach, with Antonio Conte facing an increasing uncertain. In a column for The Times, Tony Cascarino wrote: “I think it’s time they were much bolder and more original in their thinking — they need to think like Arsenal.

“When they appointed Mikel Arteta in December 2019, Arsenal made a bold decision but it was bold because Arteta was young and lacked experience. It wasn’t bold in terms of talent — he was a highly regarded young coach and tipped by many to succeed Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.

“Well now there’s another young, inexperienced manager who is being tipped to be a future City manager — Vincent Kompany,” the former Chelsea striker added.

“Guardiola himself said in the past week that he believes Kompany could be a future City manager so why don’t Tottenham, a club in need of enthusiasm and fresh impetus and ideas appoint the next bright young manager around instead of going for the usual names?”
