Edu can complete three-year Arsenal transfer mission as Jonathan David drops Premier League hint.

Arsenal sporting director Edu Gaspar can complete a three-year transfer mission by securing a deal for Lille striker Jonathan David this summer. The Canada international has hinted at a potential move to the Premier League at the end of the season in a recent interview.

David has been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium since 2020 and may land a ‘dream’ move to England after impressing in Ligue 1. The Gunners added Gabriel Jesus to their attacking options last summer after completing a £45million deal for the Brazilian to join from Manchester City.

Mikel Arteta will have Jesus, Eddie Nketiah and Folarin Balogun to select from at striker ahead of next season, with the latter enjoying a successful loan spell in France for Stade de Reims. David has the ability to play anywhere across the front three, as well as being able to operate in an attacking midfield role behind the striker.

Arsenal are in talks with Bayer Leverkusen star Moussa Diaby’s agent ahead of the summer transfer window. The Gunners retain an interest in the French winger as they plan to bolster their attacking options heading into next season.

According to CIES Football Observatory, Diaby is valued at €60million (£53million) with his contract set to expire in 2025 meaning Leverkusen could demand a huge fee for his services. The 23-year-old was linked with a switch to Newcastle last summer but opted to stay in Germany, with the Gunners now thought to be eyeing a potential summer swoop for Diaby.

Borussia Dortmund star Julian Brandt has also been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium, but Diaby’s attributes and play style certainly fit in with Mikel Arteta’s style of play and attacking ideas. The Leverkusen star has scored 11 goals and provided a further six assists in 32 appearances so far this season and could prove to be a smart addition if the Gunners are able to meet the Diaby’s valuation.

Oleksandr Zinchenko has proven to be one of the signings of the season after he completed a £30million move from Manchester City to Arsenal last summer. The Ukraine international struggled with injury at the start of the season but is now enjoying a strong run of form in the Gunners starting lineup.

Zinchenko has proved to be a crucial figure in helping Mikel Arteta’s side challenge City for the Premier League title this season. The 26-year-old joined Gabriel Jesus in swapping the Etihad Stadium for the Emirates Stadium after enjoying plenty of domestic success under Pep Guardiola.

Zinchenko’s arrival came after Nuno Tavares was allowed to leave the club on loan until the end of the season, with Kieran Tierney dropping down the pecking order to become a back-up option at left-back. The Ukrainian defender will hope that he can help the north Londoners beat his former side to the Premier League title this season as we enter the final stretch of the season.
