Arsenal news: Gary Neville makes fresh title claim amid Dimitar Berbatov’s advice to Kai Havertz

Manchester United hero Gary Neville has admitted that his prediction for Arsenal to win this season’s Premier League title is a longshot.

Speaking on Sky Sports’ YouTube channel, Neville said: “I’ve tipped Arsenal to win the title this season, which is a long shot. Manchester City are outstanding and everybody would point towards them.

“But it’s in these moments that you find out about a team, even though it’s very early in the season and City have been absolutely flawless so far.”

Wright claim

Arsenal icon Ian Wright has admitted that he can see Brighton & Hove Albion starlet Evan Ferguson soon playing for a so-called top-six team.

“When you look at him, the way he plays, his appreciation for the game, his movement and finishing both feet, good in the air and good pace,” the former England international told Premier League Productions when discussing Ferguson. “He has all the attributes at 18.

“Very mature in the way he plays. All he has to do is keep doing what he is doing and they are going to start talking about him in million terms because that striker is not allowed. You can’t find that guy to come around, who is 18, in the Premier League and at the perfect club to continue to grow.

“They aren’t going to be able to hold onto that guy if he carries on doing what he is doing. He is too good. So intelligent – for 18, it’s really, really composed finishing.

“He is fearless at 18. Can you imagine being in the Premier League at 18? You’re not under the pressure you would be under like Garnacho would be under at Manchester United – you watch the way he plays, all the top teams, the top six teams. He can play in any of those teams. We know Brighton, at some stage, they will sell him.”

Havertz advice

Former Tottenham and Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov has given Arsenal summer signing Kai Havertz some advice on how to improve his form with Mikel Arteta’s side.

“I love Havertz because he came from Leverkusen where I played for five years”, the Betfair ambassador told football.london. “I will always back him to succeed but it is going to be tough and he can feel it and sense it.

“I can see by his performance, that he knows that he needs to do better. He knows that fans, some of the fans, let’s say or the general public are a bit like: ‘He’s not performing well, he’s not giving assists, scoring goals or creating chances’ as much as everybody is expecting.

“So that’s why I want him to not overdo things. Don’t overcomplicate things, don’t be like: ‘Yes, I’ll show you. I will show everybody.’ Because of this, you start to overcomplicate the game.

“You just try to stay calm as difficult as it is, and trust me, it is difficult, I’ve been there. But try to stay calm as much as you can and just play the way you used to play. Don’t do much else and it will come trust me. It will come. The moment you start overcomplicating stuff, it’s not going to work out.”
