Arsenal in advanced talks to agree deal for 24-year-old Serie A star

Arsenal have reportedly emerged in the battle to add Weston McKennie from Juventus, with Tottenham and several other PL teams keeping tabs on his situation too. USA international has played 14 games for the Bianconeri this campaign, registering two goals and one assist from central midfield.
McKennie scored in the Old Lady’s most recent outing as they beat Empoli 4-0 in Serie A. Weston has a deal which runs until summer 2025. However, the 24-year-old midfielder is very likely to leave the Allianz Stadium before this deal expires.
The American midfielder has been strongly linked with Tottenham in the last 12 months. Spurs director of football Fabio Paratici knows the American well as he played a big role in signing him for Juventus back in July 2021. Weston will make a decision on his next move after the World Cup.
McKennie is ready to represent the USA at the tournament, having won 37 caps for the national team so far. It wouldn’t be a surprise if Weston pushed Juventus officials to let him go to England. The PL is apparently of ‘huge appeal to him’. The Gunners will probably look to bring in a new central midfielder.
Xhaka and Partey have been great this term, though the latter does tend to struggle with injuries. Weston is an option for Arsenal technical director Edu. But fans would probably want them to go after a more established footballer, such as Ruben Neves or Youri Tielemans.
