Arsenal ‘expected to agree deal’ with £104m star at Emirates

Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka is happy at the Emirates and could sign a new contract with the north London club, says journalist Pete O’Rourke.
Manchester City and Liverpool are both thought to be interested in Saka, and while O’Rourke is expecting suitors if the 21-year-old does not extend his existing deal, he is confident that he will remain a part of Mikel Arteta’s side.
What is the latest news involving Saka?
According to 90min, Arsenal are pushing hard to tie Saka, who is valued at £104m by the CIES Football Observatory, down to a new long-term contract.
The same outlet claims that the Premier League outfit are also looking to get Gabriel Martinelli and William Saliba to put pen to paper on fresh deals.
Saka and his two Arsenal team-mates will be free agents in 2024, so it is no surprise to hear that the Gunners want them to sign extensions.
The England international is being monitored by both City and Liverpool, so you would imagine that he is Arsenal’s priority right now. As per the Daily Mail, the two Champions League sides are interested in him.
What has O’Rourke said about Saka’s contract situation?
O’Rourke has told GIVEMESPORT that he expects Saka to sign a new deal at the Emirates. However, if the Arsenal star decides not to, the journalist says there will be plenty of teams after his signature.
Speaking to GMS, he said: “If it doesn’t happen, there’ll be no shortage of takers for Saka. There’ll be a lot of top clubs monitoring his contract situation right now, but I think the player is happy at Arsenal and Arsenal are obviously very happy with him as well. So I expect this deal to get done.”
What is Saka currently earning at Arsenal?
According to the Daily Mail, Saka is pocketing £70,000 a week at the Emirates, a figure he is expected to double should he decide to sign that new deal.
It is hard to argue that it is not deserved given how the Arsenal youth product has performed over the last few seasons.
Last term, he really excelled under Arteta, producing 18 goal contributions in 38 Premier League appearances.
“Saka has been a revelation, he and [Emile] Smith Rowe have been the main guys up front creating chances,” Arsenal legend Ray Parlour said on talkSPORT at the start of the year. “He is fantastic. His movement, his runs off the ball, he’s got so much intelligence. He really can play anywhere.”
Arsenal must now do everything they can to get Saka to put pen to paper on a contract extension.
